Carpets and floors and stacking

This is one thing that always bothered me on vmk - when you place certain rugs and carpets on things like crates (and now these pixel boxes), you see it kind of underneath the thing you've got it stacked on.

like this:

These "rugs" released later in the game actually laid on top of things a whole lot better:

Can it be at least 'looked at' to see if it's possible to get the old 'rugs' - tiki floors, card carpets, treasure carpets, etc. modified to be able to set 'on top' of what you're putting it on?
