Boys and girls of every age, wouldn't you like to read something strange? Grab your pen and you will see, a contest for Halloween... It's that time of year again, and the Grim Grinning Ghosts need some new tales to tell.
They're looking to you, MyVMK players, to enlighten them. Following are the rules and deadlines.
Rules
1) All stories must start with the opening, "It was a dark and stormy night..."
2) Stories must not be more than 500 words.
3) All work must be your own.
4) All entries must follow the MyVMK forum rules.
5) Do not share your story with anyone. This includes posting it on the forum before the end of the competition and encouraging people to vote for your story.
6) You may only enter one version.
7) Entries must be Halloween themed and may include characters from other franchises such as Disney!
***Breaking any of these rules will disqualify your story.
***Judging and Prizes
The judges of this contest will be your MyVMK Forums Staff Members! We will pick our top 10 favorites and then let you, the users of MyVMK Forums, vote on the finalists to determine the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners. This will be done anonymously. If there are not 10 entries, or close to that amount, we will allow all qualifying entries to be placed in a poll
The prizes are as follows:
First Place: Spooky Short Story Contest 1st Place Medal
Second Place: Spooky Short Story Contest 2nd Place Medal
Third Place: Spooky Short Story Contest 3rd Place Medal
All participants: Spooky Short Story Contest Participation Medal
Judging will be based on creativity, theme, development of storyline/characters, originality, and clarity of writing.
How to Enter
After writing your story and reviewing it to make sure it follows all the rules, CLOSED and title the post with the title of your story.
Type your story into the post and wait patiently for judging to begin!
Deadlines
All stories must be submitted by October 28th at 11:59pm EST.
Voting will open on October 30th at 12:00am EST
Voting will close on November 5th at 11:59pm EST
Winners will be announced on November 6th!
