Not sure where to put this thread - yesterday I had to do a restore back to factory settings on a Windows 8 and also try to figure out how to get my Windows 7 computer working for MyVMK. Here is my list of actions that have enabled me to log in using either Windows 7 or 8 and on Firefox or IE, hopefully it can help someone else having problems 
The following links were found by trial and error - it either wanted a plugin to work, or it remained a black screen or I got the wonderful re-directing loop with other versions I tried.
Please be extra careful in downloading any links - I have adblock plus on my browser so it only shows the relevant download popup and not any sneaky advert downloads!
Both FF and IE are the latest versions (FF - 34.0.5 and IE - 11.0.9600.17501)
Download the Flash Player 15 Plugin

Scroll a third of the way down for Release and Content Debugger Archives and get the 15.0.0.246 version (released 12/9/2014) - it is the fourth one down and you will need to extract this file.
Download Shockwave

Make sure it is version 12.1.6.156
Reboot your computer and try to play. (You must reboot for the programs to work).
When you first log in you will need to click the Shockwave for Director link in the game box to activate it, click Remind Later for the Shockwave Update popup and wait for it to install compatability components. The first time you get into the game all your buttons will be missing at the bottom so just click out of the game and try again. I only did this once and now it works perfectly every time I log in.
