Q: Why does it seem like there are more pins and furniture than clothes available in the shops?

A: Clothing items are a very involved task for our GA’s. In terms of creating a furniture item, it only needs a few rotations. This means a different frame for each of those rotations. When it comes to clothing, you need over 100 rotations/frames per single item. Since our new GA’s are learning to do this, you will see more pins and furniture for now. We have been re-releasing older clothing items in the shops, though.

Q: Why is clothing more difficult to obtain?
A: Since making clothing items are an involved item for our GA’s to create, we wanted to put most of our new clothing items in the POTC chests. You can still find the Gardians of the Galaxy Walkman hat in the Inner Space Shop, though!

Q: Will you be doing weekly new items and will there be a set day of the week that they will be released?
A: Yes, we are back to doing our weekly releases in the shops! They will be released every Thursday at 11:59pm moving forward. Edit Sept 2017: Releases will be scheduled for Saturday nights at 11:59pm EST.

Q: Will the newsletter stay current with releases?
A: Yes, we are working to update the newsletter to reflect the new releases as we speak!

Q: Is there any way to handle all of the current disconnecting problems with the software in game?
A: We’re aware of the current issues revolving disconnects and lagging within the game. Unfortunately, each player’s difficulties have to be treated as separate cases when it comes to troubleshooting. If you are having problems with your game, please try the following steps below.
  1. If you are playing with Firefox, please see this thread: http://forums.myvmk.com/threads/a-fix-for-firefox-52.66655/#post-574236
  2. If you are playing with a Mac, try clearing your cache/cookies. This will usually help the problem.
  3. Try uninstalling and re-installing the current version of Shockwave.
  4. If you are a Windows player, try downloading myVMK Pal found at myvmkpal.com.
If you are still having trouble after trying these solutions, please send us a contact email at contact@myvmk and we will do what we can to assist you.

Q: I don’t like it when a quest expires when you disconnect from the game, will there be a fix for this?
A: This was a bug that was fixed a few months ago, but seems to have come back. Our coders are looking into fixing this again. Our suggestion, if this happens, is to restart the quest. We know that’s not the most convenient answer, but if you are able to complete it on your own, we would rather see you do that!

Q: There are a lot of players only playing POTC for credits and it makes other players not want to play because of them.
A: At this time we do not have any policies against “friendly” Pirates of the Caribbean games. The only policy we have right now is that clone accounts are not allowed to play one another. If we see this happening or if it is reported by someone and confirmed, it will result in a ban of the associated accounts. If you are interested in games for competitive players, sometimes it helps to post a thread on our forums website.

Q: What is the policy on name changes in terms of taking an inactive players name?
A: We understand there’s been some confusion floating around the topic of name change requests. We’d like to share our current and most up to date policy as of June 2017. Players will be able to request names of already registered accounts but the requested name must meet the following requirements:
    1. The account holding the requested name is not a main account. Names of clone accounts will be able to be requested.
    2. The account holding the requested name is not perma-banned.
    3. If the account holding the requested name is a clone account that has been inactive for a time exceeding one year, the name will be taken into consideration. *If you are unsure if a name is available, please visit myvmk.com and scroll to the bottom of the page. Then, input the desired name into the search for user text box.
    4. Names with 3 letters are now available.
    5. Names cannot contain spaces, question marks, quotes, or any symbols.
    6. Once a user has requested a name change and it has been approved, the user must wait 90 days until they can request a new name.
    7. All name changes must be requested through an email request to contact@myvmk.com. We will not be taking any requests sent through the Call for Help button or Contact Form. Please make sure to note your in-game name as well as the new username you’d like.
These changes to our name change policy are effective immediately. Please note that the MyVMK staff has the ability to change or alter this policy at any time without warning. The MyVMK staff will have final say and observe the right to deny a name change request at any time.

Edit February 2018: Due to the New Client being released, we are overturning the previous Name Change policy outlined above. More players, who were previously inactive, will be able to sign on and play the game now with the New Client, and we do not want to take their name away. Thank you.

Q: Is there any possibility that players will be able to add our own music into the game?
A: Right now, there is no plans to add this into the game.

Q: Are old items going to keep being re-released?
A: We cannot confirm nor deny anything right now, but we will say that it is in discussion. We have a whole bunch of new players who haven’t had a chance to see older items, so we have been re-releasing a few older items the past few weeks. As we have stated before, there are some items that cannot be re-released due to a former GA who requested that their items not be released in the game again.

Q: Can I ask which items are not allowed to be re-released?
A: Right now, this is not a list we plan on releasing.

Q: Will there ever be a time when you re-release more “rare” items?
A: We don’t have a definite answer on this, but we will say that it has been a topic of discussion in our staff meetings.

Q: Will there be another ride competition/room building competition soon?
A: Again, we cannot confirm nor deny anything regarding ride competitions or room building competitions, but we will say that it has been a hot topic of discussion in our staff meetings.

Q: How often do you try to do hide and seek events?
A: We aim to host a Hide-and-Seek event twice a week, but it depends on the availability of our staff members. We always send out a tweet as well as a game announcement at least 15 minutes prior to the game starting.
