Adore tattoos. I have two - a camera on my right shoulder-blade, and "so it goes" in print from the book Slaughterhouse Five by Kurt Vonnegut on my left upper arm. I absolutely adore photography, and got the camera tattooed when I was 16. I'd like to get it redone in a watercolor style one day.
Earlier this year is when I got "so it goes," and I get one of two reactions from this tattoo: 1) The general tumblr/hipster tattoo. 2) So it goes where?
I really have a love/hate relationship with the book Slaughterhouse Five. I picked it up in middle school and put it down because I thought it was incredibly boring and couldn't get into the story. In high school, I picked it back up, and actually became interested in it and although it's been a while since I've read it, the one thing that
always stuck with me in that book was the phrase "so it goes," which I really felt a close connection with. To me it's kind of a "whatever will be, will be" which is a reminder I constantly need. So, I got it permanently on me.
Never understood those who dislike tattoos and then put other people down for having. It's not your body - if you don't like tattoos, then don't get them.
