Known Issues:
  • Missing Water flowing animation in every room in Adventureland
  • Discovery Island and Spell Room are not listed on the Map as they were on VMK before they were removed.
  • Missing Boats in every room in Adventureland
  • Missing Shrunken Ned animation in Shrunken Ned’s Shop
  • Missing double-click on cash register item to shop in Shrunken Ned’s Shop
  • Missing Captain Blackheart animation in Pirate Treehouse
  • Missing Magic Spell animation when an avatar steps on the plank in Discovery Island
  • Missing Mark Twain Steamboat picture taking and displaying
  • Missing double-click on cash register item to shop in Golden Horseshoe Mercantile
  • Missing the Yeti throwing a snowball and answering a phone call sound effect
  • A Sleeping Beauty is at the wrong coordinates in Banquet Hall

  • Avatar does not move out of the way when Maleficent the Dragon breathes fire
  • Unable to collect potion from the cauldron and try the spell with the appropriate Magic Spell animation when avatar moves to the correct coordinates
  • Missing double-click on cash register item to shop in “it’s a small world” Imports
  • Missing Monorail entrance to the left of the tree in Storybookland
  • Entrance of the tree goes to Fantasyland in the Sky instead of "it's a small world" Imports
  • Space Mountain vehicles do not work correctly in Tomorrowland Hub and Space Mountain Quest Deck
  • Missing teleporting animation and sound effect when avatar is transported from a teleport
  • There are two ride pieces in Space Mountain Quest Deck that are not supposed to be there.
  • Gate in Inner-Space Shrinking Machine does not work correctly
  • Rewards for vehicles and space suits are active even when a vehicle or space suit is not present of the corresponding rooms in Tomorrowland
  • Sound effect for collecting rewards can be heard when no one is collecting rewards of corresponding rooms in Tomorrowland
  • Street lights to enter the track are not red upon entering the room
  • Street lights must change to green from red when the Magic Effect is active and the user enters the road space
  • Upon standing still for too long, the player is kicked from the room and the map is displayed, but the music from the room continues to play instead of the map music
  • Missing double-click on quest kiosk item to start a quest in Autopia Quest Track
  • EXIT cursor to enter quest area in Captain’s Quest Quarters doesn’t work
  • Doors to enter water area in Shipwreck Graveyard and Nautilus Grotto do not correctly. They are supposed to remain closed at all times, but open upon entering.
  • Bubbles animation is not displayed as intended in Nautilus Grotto- it has a Black background
  • Hidden Mickey quests in VMK Central are unavailable.
  • Sci-Fi Dine-In posters have not been updated.
  • Missing double-click on cash register item to shop in Emporium
  • Missing Esmeralda the Fortune Teller animation
  • VMK Gallery Christmas decorations have not removed.
  • VMK Gallery paintings have not been updated.
  • VMK Gallery centerpiece has not been updated and does not have a proper centerpiece item
  • Gator Waitor NPC animations and movements aren't displayed correctly.
  • Gator Waitor NPC does not respond to a player's wave.
  • Gator Waitor NPC is not chatting.
  • User interfaces in the game are not supposed to overlap
  • The rooms from the Haunted Mansion Game are missing.
  • Phineas, Ezra, and Gus NPCs are missing from their corresponding rooms in the Haunted Mansion
  • Monorail Station is missing Monorail arrival and departure animation and text on digital display animation.

Pirates of the Caribbean Game:
  • Missing animation from torches in Pirates of the Caribbean Lobby
  • Fire shouldn’t be burning in the middle of the room
  • Upon winning a game, avatars that return to the Pirates of the Caribbean Lobby are supposed to enter the main area by moving their avatars from the Pirate ship planks to the main area
  • Instructions and Hall of Fame buttons don’t work and are missing
  • Missing the first version of the Pirates of the Caribbean Lobby with corresponding animation, music and sound effects
  • Upon entering a game of Pirates of the Caribbean, players should be able to select their ship before joining.
  • The player that started the game is unable to add AI pirate ships to the game.
  • Button to switch teams is not displayed correctly and doesn’t work.
  • Missing one chest animation when player wins or doesn’t win an item in Pirates Treasure room.
  • Players right-click to fire the cannons instead of double clicking on ships to fire the cannons.
  • Player arrow remain on display after death
  • Missing moving Clouds on all levels
  • Missing Pirates on the islands animations in every phase of Level 2 and 3.
  • When a ship explodes, the explosion and fire animations are not displayed. Surrounding ships should only become wrecked from the blast if the flame hits their low health ship.
  • When the minigame begins, the "Waiting for players" artwork and text does not display for at least 3 seconds.
  • When Pirate ships stand in one place for too long, the Kraken should appear and harm the ship.
  • When a player creates a game or is already in a game, the opacity for the “START A NEW GAME” button should be set to 50% and inactive.
Jungle Cruise Photo Safari:
  • Missing Shrunken Ned narration text and animation of Shrunken Ned talking
  • When entering the game, the music from the lobby does not cease.
  • If the player enters the game, then loses all gasoline, Shrunken Ned’s narration voice from the minigame can be heard.
  • The player’s avatar is missing from the Jungle Cruise dock.
  • When the boat passes by the avatar on the dock, the avatar would automatically go on the boat.
  • When pictures are taken, they aren’t displayed as thumbnails above.
  • Placement of the rocks would change with each passing, making it harder for the player to avoid the obstacle.
  • When a boat would hit the rock, the boat and player would flash red.
  • Missing sound effects for when the boat is moving
  • Missing Instructions and High Scores board
Castle Fireworks Remixed:
  • Instructions and Hall of Fame buttons don’t work and are missing
  • Missing fireworks animation in lobby
  • The LEAVE button does not work - continues to count down and the player enters the game.
  • Level number sometimes does not change for each level
  • Multiple zeros are displayed on each line of the scoreboard before the score
  • When a player comes in 1st place, 2nd place or 3rd place, the game automatically walks their avatar out of the castle, down the stairs to the main area.
  • Counter should display "Click play to begin" or "Waiting for players" when no one has clicked the play button.
Music Game:
  • None of the buttons in Music Game work correctly
  • Missing dance animation when player plays his or her song in the lobby
  • Text isn’t displayed above the lobby
Magic Shop Checkers Game
  • Not available
Haunted Mansion Game:
  • Teleporting shows the ghost or player moving across the screen instead of vanishing and reappearing
  • For a player to capture a ghost, the player has to be really near it
  • When multiple players join a game, the Attic and Ballroom are skipped.
  • Players are unable to find and enter the correct door at the end of the first and second levels

You did fantastic work finding all the bugs to be fixed and noted them well. Maybe with your help they'll be able to get the game working as it should be.

Spell Room and Discovery Island were never on the map even in OG VMK. They are hidden rooms so it’s not a bug it’s intended. (i.e. Pirate’s Treasure Room, Waterpark Pool, Injun Joe’s Cave)

The Gator Waiter NPC is not missing and is animated.

Hidden Mickey quest is an implementation thing, not a bug. They just haven't had time to recreate it yet.

VMK Gallery centerpiece is now used to display items that can be earned throughout the month.

**Pirates of the Caribbean**

Firing the cannons in Pirates of the Caribbean with a mouse/trackpad is done with a single right click, not a double left click.

Character animations are already implemented. There was a big update to a lot of bugs in pirates on 07/22/18.

When a wrecked ship explodes if the ships near you have 1 hp, they too will die. Its always been like that.

When a wrecked ship is sunk it explodes automatically if the it is hit more than the health it has. Also wrecked ships can be shot on again to explode them. They also explode when you click if the ship corpse is present. (Not sure what you were getting at with this one)

The reason that I think the level takes so long to display on initial start is the the game waits for every player to load into the instance. Once every player is in then the artworks show. If one player doesn't load then the game gets in a locked state (which is a bug).

Counter states “Waiting 1 more” even when no one is playing is done because Fireworks isn't popular and since there aren't that many players in the game at the moment you would be waiting for a really, really long time. You made some great points markissdee, but the Gator Waiter was missing for a while and was only put back last night...

I can assure you that everything listed here was found in the original game and/or the previous client.

  2. Gator Waitor wasn't in the Blue Bayou room when I was looking for bugs. The NPC's animations are not active at the correct time. It is not chatting. It does not respond to a wave. Therefore, it isn't animated correctly. Source:

A lot of what you mention are also design decisions. Yes the game is a recreation of the old. But old things can always be improved. And what you think something should be or should say was probably discussed among Amy and the other developers on how they wanted to be implemented. (Not arguing anything here just trying to bring it to light)

Also they transitioned the code from a Shockwave language (possibly Lingo) which is synchronous vs JavaScript which is asynchronous. Which means there’s probably some level of difficulty recreating some behaviors in the legacy code in the new engine.

I disagree - the jQuery library is fully capable of recreating the same behaviours. Any animation, music and sound effect should be easy to add because of the following reasons:

I disagree - the jQuery library is fully capable of recreating the same behaviours. Any animation, music and sound effect should be easy to add because of the following reasons:
  1. XML (Shockwave client) and JSON (JavaScript client) are similar. They make use of the same information - coordinates. It's used to display animations, load music and sound effects. It just takes a lot of time to do every single one.

Yes, JavaScript is a synchronous language but that’s not how they are probably executing the processes. What you’re forgetting is JavaScript can also be executed asynchronously which is all the hype nowadays with dynamic development. I’m pretty sure they didn’t make the change to JavaScript solely because it’s a more supported and less annoying platform across all operating systems. Being on the outside I don’t know, but I can guarantee that they are using asynchronous execution for a lot of the tasks since JavaScript doesn’t support threading. Thus no threading gives more memory space for other processes and tasks.

ok so im not sure why this is such a big deal seeing as its a game and everyone enjoys playing....
I don’t think it’s a big deal, just a high level discussion we are having about how the game is implemented. My life is software development so I mean I go through discussions like these day to day with my team at work and quite frankly I find it fun to debate code.

To my knowledge, they created the new client because Adobe Director and Adobe Shockwave are abandonware. macOS users couldn't play MyVMK without using a Wine applet. Google disabled the use of Adobe Shockwave in Chrome.

I was just wondering if the Haunted Mansion candles work. They do light up but without any flames. Is there a trick I am missing? I double click them and the light up but then go of when I close the window.
