Quizeenville was a small town that boasted the finest candy makers in the world. At most places, Santa Claus could expect a few cookies and a glass of milk for his Christmas Eve visits. In Quizeenville, he was treated to melt-in-the-mouth truffles, fudge so gooey it tickled every taste bud, hot chocolate that warmed him all the way to his toes…it makes me hungry just to think of it.

One Christmas Eve, Santa arrived in Quizeenville shortly after midnight. He saved his favorite stop in the town for last. Grannie Annie, the Good Candy Witch, always made the most delicious of Christmas Eve plates. He slipstreamed down the chimney and gazed around the store fondly. Rows of candies filled the glass cases. A merry little Christmas tree added a scent of pine to the room. But wait, where was the plate full of treats for him? Usually, it was placed on the counter on a snow white doily.

Then, the door to the kitchen cracked open and the fragrance of chocolate, peppermint, and vanilla wafted out. He peeked around the door and beheld a young woman stirring a great black pot.

“Little Samantha Coco! Why aren’t you asleep in your bed?!”

Samantha’s nose crinkled and her eyes sparkled behind the shiny lenses of her glasses. “I’m not a little girl now, Santa. I’m all grown up.”

“But you can see me! And where is Grannie Annie?”

“I’m not THAT grown up,” Samantha giggled. “Grannie retired last spring so I’ve taken over the shop. Somehow the name stuck so I’m Grannie Sammie now.”

“Children do grow up,” Santa sighed. “I suppose it will be a while before you have children of your own. Guess I’ll have to cross this stop off my list for a while.”

Samantha pulled out a stool. “Here Santa. I know it’s your busy night but you can stay for hot chocolate.”

Santa glanced at the round kitchen clock. “Just a minute, mind you. Then I must be off. I still have Canada to visit.”

Samantha poured silken hot chocolate into a mug. The marshmallows had just started to melt and oozed into the chocolate.

Santa curled his boots around the legs of the stool and nibbled at the delicacies she placed before him. “My! Oh! This…is…magical! My dear, I’ve eaten Annie’s treats for years. I think you cook even better than she did! Before I go, is there some little wish you’d like to make? I can still grant wishes for even grownup young ladies, you know.” Santa winked at her.

“I wish I could give candy to all the children, not just here in town.”

“How would you like a job?” Santa stood. “There is an old gingerbread house near my workshop. We could fix it up for you.”

Well, my dear ones, Grannie Sammie didn’t have to think twice. She moved up to the North Pole and has been making candy for your Christmas stockings ever since.

THE END

Christmas time is finally here,
Its when we sing loud to spread the cheer.

We watch movies like Elf or Christmas with the Kranks,
It’s the time to be good, not playing any pranks.

While many celebrate Christmas, not all of us do,
There's Kwanzaa, Yule, and Hanukkah too!

Whats most important is that we remember,
to respect all holidays in this month of December.

So get home, relax, see those that you love,
Wrap presents, make cookies, or do all of the above.

No matter what you celebrate, I hope you’re brought joy,
Because everyone should feel loved, every girl and boy.

On a night where the lights were aglow, everyone in game central station had nowhere to go.

There was not exactly an arcade family tree, because everyone there is electricity.

However, there was one thing that rocked everyone’s world, was a totally sweet racing candy girl.

She began to suspect that everyone was sad so she asked Santa Ralph to make everyone glad.

“Why are we all alone is this just a mistake? I thought at Christmas that life would be just a piece of cake.”

Santa Ralph understood that this girl felt alone but fortunately for everyone his heart was not made of stone.

Santa said with his cherries in hand that he would try to cater to her one demand,

He went out with his helpers who came from their games, as he went to the children he called his helpers by name.

On goombas, on Tapper, on koopas who fly, on Inky, on Pinky, on Blinky, and Clyde!

As they sat there alone on their lone winter night, Santa Ralph gave them an invite.

It was handwritten by all of Santa Ralph’s elves, so that no lonely game would have to be by themselves.

So the games came together for one big fiesta, and after the party, they took a siesta.

As the games all took off into flight, they said Merry Christmas to all and to all a good night!

No Name sat on the edge of her bed clicking through each pre-set station on her radio.

Jingle bell, Jingle bell…

Around the Christmas Tree…

Let it Snow, Let it Snow…

“Ughhh!” No Name slammed the power button on the radio and threw herself backwards onto the bed. She reached out and grabbed her stuffed Cheshire Cat. She pulled it close and tried her best not to cry, as a single tear slid down her cheek. She thought about her classmates, all in their houses filled with large families, friends, games, Christmas trees, presents, mistletoe, and sparkling lights. For as far back as she could remember, the holidays were nothing more than a stabbing reminder of how she didn’t fit in. She didn’t fit in anywhere. Her silent house wasn’t filled with anything but the same, ugly wallpaper and shag carpet that it held the other 364 days of the year.

Her parents didn’t believe in or celebrate anything and she was forbidden to participate in any type of birthday, or holiday celebration.

When all the kids at school were practicing for the Holiday recital, No Name was in the corner with a book, trying to wish herself to disappear.

If not distracted by the teacher, the other kids stared and whispered to each other.

“She’s so weird”, said one little girl to another.

“A- Lee-Unnnnn”, said one boy really slowly, as he pulled his eyelids way apart from both eyes and motioned in No Name’s direction.

All the kids began to giggle. The teacher snapped at them to pay attention to the director.

No Name understood that her parents had their beliefs but she didn’t understand why she had to be humiliated because of them.

No Name spent most of her days studying or working hard. She volunteered for all of the holiday work shifts and was grateful for the extra money they garnered. She knew that with hard work, she would someday be able to build her own life and be free. She could be just as weird or normal as she wanted to be.

That is exactly what she did. She now has a beautiful family and wonderful friends, including you myVMK family! Her home is filled with happiness and everything she dreamed of as a kid. The holidays are her favorite time of year. She has accomplished many of her goals and looks forward to more dreams coming true.

Life is a non-stop roller coaster, with highs and lows. The holidays are not always magical for everyone. I hope this story reaches anyone that might be struggling right now. In time, things will get better. Believe that you can make your own happy ending and you will.

on MyVMK there was much Holiday cheer,
amy's reindeer ears were out,
and even a secret santa did appear.

baubles and lights decorated the streets,
for the community began spending their credits,
on new furni items ever so neat.

new crates appeared decorated with a ribbon,
giving hopes and dreams of getting that new limited edition,

the elves where busy as raffle tickets began players spending.
who knows what's to come as players begin to speculate.

myvmk at christmas is my favourite time of year.
the community gets close and cosy with christmas sweaters,
before the last snowdrop falls on the main street on the 31st of December

The families had left for the night and the owner switched off the twinkling lights above their heads. Once the last light was switched off and they heard the gate lock, the trees came to life, stretching and yawning from their busy day.
“Did you see Noble was taken by the Johnson family this year? Just like his brother before him,” Virginia Pine said.
“And his grandfather. They would be proud,” said White Pine, her husband. Little Scotch looked up to his father.
“Daddy, what do you mean ‘taken’? That sounds scary,” he said. White look at his son, a four-foot tall pine who was only 3 years old.
“Let me tell you a story, son,” White started… “Our duty as Christmas trees begins when we are planted as a tiny seed. We are watered and cared for by the owners of this farm. When we hit a certain point in our lives, we are marked as ‘ready’ with a red ribbon. Every December, families from all over come to see our beautiful branches, and to pick one of us to live in their home for the holidays.” Scotch looked to his father in awe.
“You see, we’ve become a symbol of their holidays. They take us home, adorn us with beautiful ornaments, ribbons, and beads and we become the centerpiece that has become the Christmas spirit. We witness all of the beautiful events of a family’s holiday: gifts, baking, and my favorite part – homecomings. Sometimes, the most decorated trees can even bring people to tears.”
“We have a duty to uphold to harness the Christmas spirit. And you, my son, will be one of the most magnificent displays of that spirit.”

Fallen leaves turn frosty under the blanket of falling snow
Streets come to life with the gleam of lights in every row
Within me grows a feeling so powerful, so bright, and I know
Christmas time is coming

Wishes so merry fill the streets and every place
Pine trees by the dozens disappear without a trace
To be decorated with tinsel and baubles and lace
Christmas time is coming

Marshmallows, pecans, and hot chocolate by the fire
The warmth of a cozy abode fulfills each and every desire
And the happiness that fills the living room can never tire
Christmas time is coming

Santa and the elves are hard at work in the North
The night will soon arrive where his reindeer speed back and forth
Dropping presents down chimneys from Canada to Borth
Christmas time is coming

A time for family, for friends, for cheer
Loved ones come from far and near
To celebrate the joy of life without fear
I know with all my might that
Christmas time is, finally, here

It was Christmas morning, and the palace was beautifully decorated in red and green. Everyone was in the Christmas spirit. Especially Rapunzel, who had never had a proper Christmas living in her tower. She had been counting down the days ever since her parents had told her everything about this special time of year. It was finally time! Rapunzel hopped out of bed in her red satin nightdress and ran as fast as she could down the hall to Eugene’s room. She creaked open the door to see him sleeping soundly. She paused and looked over at Pascal sitting on her shoulder. He gave her a nod and a wink. She smiled and burst into his room, hopping on the bed. “Wake up Eugene! It’s Christmas!!” She belted. Pascal chirped excitedly on her shoulder. “Oh, Merry...yaaawn...Christmas.” Eugene muttered sleepily. “Come on, come on let’s go open presents!!” Rapunzel cheered as she jumped up and down. She ran down the spiral staircase to find a humongous fir tree covered in the kingdom’s signature color of vibrant gold. Golden ornaments, and a shiny gold garland finished off with a golden sun placed on top. Underneath the tree were presents for each of the family. Rapunzel grabbed up a handful of gifts. “These are for you!” She said to Eugene as he entered the room. “Woah, need a hand with that blondie?” He asked. “Eugene! I’m not blonde anymore, remember?” She said as she twirled her short brown locks. “I know, but you’re still cute.” He smirked. Rapunzel’s cheeks became flushed. Just then Rapunzel’s newly reunited Mother and Father headed down the stairs. “Merry Christmas you two.” They said. “Merry Christmas!” Rapunzel and Eugene said in unison. They all sat together and opened their gifts. Rapunzel received a pair of handmade shoes, adorned with gems in her favorite color. Rapunzel stared down at her bare feet and wiggled her toes. She beamed and thanked her parents. Next Rapunzel unwrapped an easel and some new paint gifted generously by Eugene. “I thought you could use this, due to the palace walls being off limits.” He chuckled. “Thank you, Eugene.” She smiled warmly at him. Pascal’s gift was a warm blanket sized just for him with the palace sun on it. “Open your presents now!!” Rapunzel said joyfully. She gifted Eugene a leather saddle so he could ride Maximus, a diamond encrusted hand mirror, and a portrait she painted herself of them together. The first portrait of Eugene where his nose looked right! Eugene’s eyes welled up with tears. “Sooo…” Rapunzel scooted closer to him. “Which gift was your favorite?” She asked. “Well, none of these gifts.” He smirked. Rapunzel pouted. “You’ve already given me the best gift I could ever ask for. A family, a place to call my own, a palace at that! A warm fire, a horse.” Rapunzel rolled her eyes. “And most importantly you.” She blushed again and hugged him tightly. “Oh Eugene.” “I love you Rapunzel.” I love you more.”
