Is Die Hard a Christmas Movie?

Please debate as to why or why not.

Considering it takes place on like Christmas Eve or whatever, technically it could be considered a Christmas movie, but I don't think it's one of those movies that should be played on like ABC Family's 25 Days of Christmas (I know it wouldn't since its rated R but you know what I mean). I'd consider it an action or thriller movie over Christmas.

The question is not whether it is fun for the family or not...the question is is it a christmas movie?

It takes place during christmas, it has christmas themes/references in it. Yes.

G-Rated christmas movie? Nah. But being family-friendly is not a requirement to be considered a christmas movie

After watching it, I concluded that while it is not in the "Christmas Movie Genre" (which usually has a Christmas meaning to it, and the entire series following the movie deals with Christmas as well, as Die Hard's sequels have nothing to do with Christmas), it is a good movie to watch on or around Christmas.
