Question About Green Crates

So I'm kinda new to crates I've never used them before and I was wondering how do you open a crate? I know you need the keys but idk how to use them. Thank you for your help in advanced

1) Get yourself a room. Any room. I tend to get the cheapest.
2.) Put the Green Crate in the room.
3.) Put the Green Key on your lanyard.
4.) Stand by the Crate, double click the Crate, and say 'OK/Yes/Whatever' when the pop-up appears.
5.) It'll be opened!

You actually don't have to wear the keys. Just stand next to the crate and double click it. That's always worked for me and it's the lazy way hehe.
