They've been in development since just after the game's announcement to close.. I was following them and now it seems to be spreading like wildfire.

Im looking forward to this and other projects. If they are a success Ill probably play, I never felt like I got to where I wanted each time I quit and came back. Would love to play again now I am older and relive memories and get further into the game

This is an incredibly exciting project for me to get to be a part of.~ I'm working as the team's designer/illustrator for the website and I'm just about finished with the official backdrop for the whole page. I'm hoping to have it finished before the end of the morning. xD I don't know how soon the team will implement it when I complete it, but when I have it done if anyone wants to check it out I'll have it uploaded to my deviantart gallery under the same username that I have here.

I'm talking about picking up Toontown Rewritten since I played the actual game a few years ago.

I think it's the real deal. They posted some video proof on a couple of the ToonTown fansites.

They've opensourced their implementation of the OTP protocol... so I doubt it.

This is not a recreation unlike what the title says, it's just a reopening using a new server. There's plenty they could improve, I mean, a lot. But it doesn't look like they are.

Seeing as I run the largest wiki for the game, which still has a lot of holes in its info, this is exciting for me to see. I tried decompiling the machine code in Toontown.exe but that was an epic fail. I'll mostly be digging up data from this new server if I can.

I really hope this all works out with the private server. I would love to get back into Toontown. One of the main reasons why I quit was because it cost $10 a month. I'm not a huge fan of spending money on a virtual game. Learned that lesson the hard way by playing Maplestory. I wasted so much money on that game. :c
