"Free" Pins...?

So, dumb question, but which pins constitute as "free" outside of the NPC pins and log-in pins? Do SITS fit in this category? Event queue pins? Treasure chest pins? I don't want to be the problem child at the Host events XD

I think it's just those. I know that we are able to trade ash from SITS and the chests at the pin events, and I've also traded queue pins before.
