Too often we get caught up in the routines of our daily lives, I encourage everyone to take a moment out of their day to appreciate the little things enjoyable in your life that go un-noticed.
We’re given our 5 senses, touch, smell, taste, hearing and sight, but often times we forget to use them. We don’t use the senses we’re given to appreciate life, and we should.
I encourage you to think of and share some of your own little pleasures in life that might go unnoticed.
Some of mine:
The feeling of fluffy carpet on feet
The feeling of cold sheets against clean shaven legs
The feeling of a hot shower when your muscles are tired and sore
The feeling of the breeze on your skin through an open window
The feeling of a long drink of water when your mouth and throat are dry
The feeling of putting on a pair of pants or socks right after it gets out of the dryer
The feeling of your cat resting on your tummy
The feeling of cool tile on your feet on a hot day
The feeling of a solid, heavy camera in your hands, posed for action
The smell of wet dirt and plants
The smell of baking cookies
The smell of your neighbor’s barbecue wafting into your backyard
The smell of the pages of a new book
The sound of a perfectly still, quiet morning
The sound of your loved ones laughing
The sound of rain hitting the roof
The sound of wind rustling the branches of a tree
The sound of rocks hitting each other as the waves recede on a rocky shoreline
The sound of an old record player, playing a lost tune
The sound of lightning striking the earth
The sound of thunder rumbling in the distance
The taste of hot chicken noodle soup on a cold day
The taste of warm, freshly baked brownies
The sight of rain droplets rolling down a window pane
The sight of a happy child running around, carefree
The sight of lightning illuminating the sky and dark clouds
The sight of a blank canvas, with an array of colors to fill it with beside it
