A long time ago during the original VMK I wrote this in memory of the fireworks game. These are my best two poems.
BEAUTIFUL FIREFLIES
Beautiful little fireflies
Dancing across the starry sky.
Try to catch them if you dare
If you blink, you?re not there.
You tease us as you go by.
While we struggle as we try.
Purple, orange, pink and red
They are the best it is said.
Followed by green and then by yellow.
Who we heard is a colorful fellow.
Along comes the handsome brothers blue.
Who casts along an exquisite hue.
As we travel through the night.
To reach the finale, it is a sight.
If we are lucky in our fight
We will catch them within our sight.
Oh beautiful little fireflies
With all the colors of the sky
You will leave us in the day
But we will be back again to play
ODE TO A STARRY NIGHT
Twinkle, twinkle in the sky
Come the beautiful fireflies.
Over the castle bold and bright
We see them in the night.
Purple, orange and finally pink
They are the first and gone in a wink..
If you?re quick and on the draw
You will get them without a flaw.
Next comes a jungle black and gruesome
Red and green follow
Aren?t they a twosome.
Tomorrowland comes another phase,
Let?s add yellow to this craze.
Frontierland is almost here
Can you see them far and near.
With cyan as the final one
If you get them, you?re almost done.
On a hill far above the town,
Comes the finale and the crown.
Add another brighter blue,
With magical luster and sinister hue.
Twinkle, twinkle in the sky
Come the beautiful fireflies.
If you master them you will win
A wonderful, glorious, magic pin
