Doe more ram help lag issues

How much RAM do you have currently? It does help significantly when playing high memory games. The higher amount of RAM (Random Access Memory) you have prioritized for the game, the better it will run. The two things I think make the most difference is having a good processor and high RAM.
Edit: I see that you have 4 GB on Amy's poll. That isn't much, but it is definitely high enough that you shouldn't be lagging in fireworks. I'd blame it on your internet or possibly your CPU. Do you know your internet upload/download speeds?
