How to put gif in signature

Hiya. Just casually asking for help with this stupid mistake I keep making. Whatever word you use that is between "beginner" and "intermediate", that's me.

• What: I want to put a gif in my signature
• Why: Because I'm having problems with the gif actually working.
• When: Right now.
• Where: Stop asking me the 5 w's and h

So, this certain gif I'm hoping to put in my signature, I uploaded it onto Imgur to use its link for the "insert image/media" option in here, but can't find the link that usually shows up on the side. When I tried using the web browser link, it just shows up as [ ] with "IMG" inside it. I decided to try doing the same thing on Tumblr, but the gif became static and doesn't work/loop. I spent hours trying to figure it out and I don't know what to do and am pretty much giving up now.
I could've been playing friendlies right now.

Any ideas/suggestions/etc will be very much appreciated. Thank you for your time!

Here's how I add a gif to my signature:
Step 1: upload picture to imgur/ find on google
Step 2: right click the image/gif and select "copy image address"
Step 3: go to signature.
Step 4: click the little landscape/image icon next to the smiley face.
Step 5: paste the image address you copied into the pop up.
Step 6: hit enter
Step 7: the image/gif should appear in your signature. You can now finish editing your signature if you don't want to add anything else.
Step 8: Celebrate because you now have a brand new signature!
