Unfortunately I can't help ya with the light saber pins inquiry, but as far as leaving 'spaces' between pins, blank pins are for sale in the Main Street Magic Shop for 100c per.

You kind of have to visualize it. Get some of the blank pins , and then put on your pins in the order you'll like for them to appear on your avi. It'll look weird in the tab but when you click on yourself it will be right!
