Tips about Signatures?

I am very new to the whole forum thing, I just generally use Tumblr, haha!

Anyway, I don't know how to customize awesome signatures like you guys do. When I go to the edit signature page, it's only a grey box and I can't really do much. Its the exact same for posting this thread, I can't do much except type in a grey box.

THAT BEING SAID, it might possibly be the after effects of the hacking that happened during my absence and if this is the case thats fine, I am totally cool with waiting! I just want to add a nice gif, and maybe some colored text but if I cannot right now thats totally cool.

Signatures do work! you just have to get the gif into img form c:! I can prolly help you there if you need me to. I just need the picture you want or gif~
