Because we can't trade credits in VMK, credit sprees are offered. The person giving the spree buys the items that the other person wants, totaling up to the spree offered.

Example: I offer you 1000 credit spree for your Herbie shoes. You accept and tell me to buy you two 500 credit pins that are for sale in the Emporium. We trade goods. End of transaction.

Another way to do it (mainly for small amounts, less than 150 or so) is to buy x number of 5 credit pixels (so, 150 would be 30 pixels).

Then you trade those, and the person getting them sells the pixels. Then he has the credits.
