I think the point being made was that if staff members have been known to contribute to the cost of the game (and that some of these staff members are also seen as "corrupt", yet are being kept around), perhaps something about that arrangement should be changed - and that's a completely valid point. Perhaps it (and the following comments as well) could have been worded nicer, but again, the point is still valid and maybe it should be considered in the future.
And while I agree that we don't know Amy's personal situation (and don't need to), it's also true that none of us know anyone else's either. I think the point being made was that those who have endured some pretty horrible things in life (if only I had time to talk about everything I've been through, for example) have accomplished much in spite of serious issues - however, I can see how this could be seen as put down rather than encouragement. I'm also aware that everyone is different - what one person may be able to accomplish just may not be doable for another person. That's just how I saw it - valid points were made, but I can see how they could be offensive (though I don't think they were meant to be that way). Nonetheless, this whole thing is completely besides the point of this thread.
