I think we can all agree that the unique and often surprising monthly themes, and the outstanding items that come with them, are one of the best things about MyVMK. This thread is not so much game suggestions (that's a different subforum) but a creative exercise. As the title suggests, the point is to come up with fun ideas for monthly themes! But there are a few ground rules:
1. No copying directly from themes that have already been used. (See here for a complete list so far.)
2. Make sure the themes are Disney-friendly and Disney-inspired. Good bases for themes are things like: concepts from the parks, Disney movies, and holidays or seasonal motifs.
3. No theme is complete without a whole bunch of new swag! You can either list items from the old VMK that haven't been released in MyVMK yet or come up with all new ones. Be sure to include at least one of each of the following--and if it's your own invention, describe it!
Furniture
* One seat (chair or couch)
* One table or stackable item
* One flat or room divider
* One carpet or rug
* One lamp or other item you can double-click to make something happen
Clothing
* One shirt/top
* One skirt/pants
* One hat
* One pair of shoes
NOTE: If you decide on a gender-specific item of clothing, please also include a counterpart for the opposite gender! I'm sure we don't have a problem if people want to cross-dress, but we shouldn't make anyone do it who doesn't want to!
Pins
* One magic pin
* One set of at least four normal pins
Guest Room
* One pre-existing (but unreleased) room, or a completely new one
BONUS: A new type of ride track and/or vehicle!
Are we ready? I'll start!
Fairy Garden Month
Furniture
Seat: Orchid Chair (in various colors)--a simple chair that resembles an exotic orchid, with petals growing to make the shape of the back and arms
Table: Toadstool Table--should be self-explanatory
Room Divider: Dew-Spangled Cobweb--similar to the Spider Web Room Divider, but with dewdrops instead of a creepy spider
Carpet/Rug: Pixie Dust Pathway--A variation on the ALR Sand Carpet that has a glittering path marked on it. There would be at least three different ones--a straight version, an angled version, and a T-junction so that you can map out any path you wish.
Lamp: Flower Lamp--An upright floor lamp shaped like a daisy or other flower.
Clothing
Top: Tinker Bell Dress Top (female) Leaf Jacket (male)--both include wings!
Bottom: Tinker Bell Dress Skirt (female) or Leaf Trousers (male)
Hat: Acorn Cap
Shoes: Pixie Puffball Shoes (female) or Curly-Toed Leaf Shoes (male)
Pins
Magic Pin: Fairy Flight--Your sprite hovers and sheds pixie dust for a limited period of time.
Normal Pin Set: Disney Fairies. Each would feature one of the important characters from the Disney Fairies DVD series with a backdrop according to their talent--Tink with a green leaf, Rosetta with a pink flower, Iridessa with a yellow sunburst, Fawn with an orange pawprint, Silvermist with a blue water splash, Vidia with a purple whirlwind, Terrence with a beige sack of pixie dust.
Guest Room
Pixie Hollow: The room resembles a forest clearing, but the "trees" that define its boundaries are actually oversized flowers and shrubs. The entrance/exit is through a giant teapot (Tinker Bell's house) off to one side; it exits into Storybook Land. A signpost in the backdrop reads "Fairies Welcome." The music you hear upon entering is light, whimsical, and Celtic-flavored. When it ends, sound effects consisting of bird noises, bee buzzes, and frog chirps continue.
